Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)
What is Abdominoplasty
Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) is a surgical procedure where fat and skin are removed, often requiring reconstruction of the umbilicus (belly button). Large incisions, general anesthesia and weeks off work are the hallmarks of this surgery. Patients who have experienced massive weight loss are often prime candidates.
Properly performed liposuction produces outstanding results for many patients that considered abdominoplasty for cosmetic reasons. Coupled with Dr. Wolf’s Laser Lipo Plus, patients who only previously considered have had amazing results and have been very satisfied.
If you are debating whether to use liposuction or abdominoplasty our office can arrange for you to speak with satisfied patients that made the decision to use liposuction over abdominoplasty.
In the event the patient does not receive the results that he or she desired, we also offer a localized skin excision (skin removal) to remove the excess skin.
To date, we have not been asked to perform an abdominal skin excision. We are familiar with the Avelar technique, which is an outpatient procedure. The excised skin, along with this technique, provides patients a thinner waistline by removing the unwanted skin and/or fat. If there is a demand for this procedure, we’ll be sure to add this to our surgical resources.
